What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser to remember things between pages or visits. UK law, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations alongside UK GDPR, requires us to tell you which ones we use and to get your consent before setting any that are not strictly necessary.
What we set, and when
On your first visit we set nothing beyond what is needed to remember your answer to the banner. Google Analytics is only loaded, and its cookies only set, if you press Accept.

The last of those is not strictly a cookie. It is stored in your browser's local storage rather than sent to us with every request, which is a smaller footprint for the same job. It is listed here anyway, because the law covers storing information on your device however it is done, and a policy that quietly omits storage on a technicality is not much of a policy.
Measurement that sets no cookies
We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to count page views and measure loading performance. They are first-party, they set no cookies and they do not track you across other websites, so there is no storage on your device to consent to and they are not behind the banner. They cannot identify you.
Advertising
We do not set advertising cookies and we do not run retargeting.
Changing your mind
You can change your answer at any time, and refusing later is as easy as accepting was. Use the button below to bring the banner back.
Every major browser also lets you view, block and delete cookies in its privacy settings. Blocking all cookies will not break this site.
Cookies set by others
Pages on this site link out to external sites such as GOV.UK and FENSA. Those sites set their own cookies under their own policies once you are on them, and we have no control over that.
