Get Double Glazing Quotes

Free quotes from installers covering your area, plus the 2026 benchmark prices to check them against. A quote you cannot measure against anything is not much use.

How this works
  1. We pass your enquiry to Leads 2 Trade
  2. They call you to confirm what you need
  3. Up to four local installers quote
FreeNo obligationWithdraw any time

For context before you start: a uPVC casement window runs £400 to £1,000 fitted in 2026, and a typical 3-bed comes to £4,000 to £10,000. Any quote you are given should divide down to something inside that first range. The full benchmark is below the form.

First line only, for example 12 Mill Lane. Your postcode is above.
The more detail you give, the closer the quotes will be.

What your double glazing quote should come to

The single most useful thing you can do with a quote is divide the total by the number of windows and see where the result lands. Installers price per opening, so that figure is directly comparable even when two quotes are laid out completely differently.

2026 UK benchmark, per window, supply and fit
Frame materialPer window, fittedBest for
uPVC£400–£1,000Best value, low maintenance, excellent insulation
Aluminium£540–£1,350Slim frames, modern look, very durable
Timber£760–£1,900Period and listed properties, premium finish

A quote landing below the bottom of its range is not automatically a bargain and is worth more scrutiny, not less: the usual reasons are a thinner sealed unit, budget hardware, or scaffolding and making good quietly left out. A quote above the top of the range may be entirely fair if you are in London, in a conservation area, or buying timber. Check the cost by house size table for whole-property totals, or run the numbers yourself in the double glazing cost calculator.

Can you get a double glazing quote online?

Yes and no, and the difference is worth thirty seconds of your time because two very different things get sold as an “online quote”.

The first is an estimate. You put in your window count, style and frame material and a number comes back straight away. That is what the double glazing cost calculator on this site does, free, with no phone number and no signup, and it is built from the same 2026 price data as the table above. It is genuinely instant and it is genuinely not a quote.

The second is an enquiry, and it is what the form on this page is. You tell us what you need, Leads 2 Trade call you to confirm the job, and then up to four local installers contact you to price your actual openings. Four is the cap, not a target — if only two cover your postcode, you hear from two.

Some sites present that same process as an instant online quote and mention the phone calls afterwards, or not at all. We would rather you knew which of the two you were filling in, and how many people are going to ring.

Nobody can give you a firm price for windows online. Replacement units are made to your measurements, so the price depends on the size of each opening, how the existing frames come out, what the reveals are like underneath and whether the fitters can reach the upper floor without scaffolding. A site quoting a fixed figure before anyone has measured is either pricing stock sizes or is going to revise the number after the survey. The revision is the part that hurts.

So the sensible way to use an online window quote is as the check, not the answer. Get the instant estimate first, so you walk into the conversation knowing roughly what the job is worth. Then compare the written quotes against it. Free window quotes are easy to come by; a benchmark to judge them against is the harder half, and it is the half that saves money.

What a double glazing quote should itemise

A quote you can actually compare names the things that move the price. If any of these are missing, ask before you compare it against anything: the number of windows and the opening configuration of each, the frame material and colour, the glass specification and its window energy rating, the hardware and locks, whether trickle vents are included, who removes and disposes of the old frames, what making good the plaster and external sealing covers, the scaffolding or access arrangement, and the registration certificate.

That last one matters more than it looks. Replacement windows are notifiable work, and a FENSA or CERTASS registered installer self-certifies the job against building regulations. A quote with no certificate line is a quote with a cost still hidden in it.

Why two quotes for the same job differ by thousands

Almost always because they are not the same job. The common causes, roughly in order of how much money they move: a different glass specification, which is invisible on the page and is the single biggest lever; a different frame material, where aluminium runs 30 to 40% above uPVC and timber 60 to 110% above it; a different unit count, because one installer has priced a bay as one opening and another as three; access and scaffolding, priced by one and assumed by the other; and disposal and making good, which is the line most often absent from the cheapest number.

This is why three quotes beats one and why the brief matters more than the shopping. Give every installer the same specification and the differences that remain are real ones.

What happens after you submit

  1. We pass your enquiry to Leads 2 Trade Limited. They run the comparison services Trusted Local Installers and CompareCompanies. We do not keep a copy of your details.
  2. Leads 2 Trade call you to confirm what you need and check the job is one their installers cover.
  3. Up to four local installers contact you by phone to arrange quotes. From that point each installer holds your details in its own right, under its own privacy policy.

Double glazing quotes: common questions

Yes. The quotes are free and there is no obligation to accept any of them. You do not pay us or the installers anything for quoting, and the calculator on this site is free to use with no signup.

We pass your enquiry to Leads 2 Trade Limited, who call you first to confirm what you need. They then pass your details to up to four local installers, who contact you by phone to arrange quotes.

Leads 2 Trade usually call first, and that call is normally the first contact you get. The installers then ring you to arrange a time to measure up and quote.

Yes. You can withdraw your consent at any time and it is as easy to withdraw as it was to give. Email hello@doubleglazingcostcalculator.co.uk and we will stop our part of it and tell Leads 2 Trade. Once an installer holds your details you can also ask that installer directly to erase them.

Three is the usual advice, and it is the reason this form exists. One quote gives you nothing to compare against, and two leaves you guessing which is the outlier. Check whatever you are offered against the 2026 benchmark prices on this site before you decide.

You can get an instant estimate online, and you should. What you cannot get online is a firm quote, because replacement windows are made to your measurements and the price turns on the size of each opening, how the old frames come out and whether the fitters need scaffolding. The calculator on this site returns a sourced 2026 range in seconds with no phone number required. A real quote follows a survey, and any site giving you a fixed figure before anyone has measured will revise it afterwards.

Yes, both kinds. The calculator is free to use with no signup, and the installer quotes arranged through this form are free and carry no obligation. You do not pay us or the installers for quoting. Compare the written quotes against the benchmark range on this page rather than against each other, because three quotes that are all too high still look consistent.

Leads 2 Trade charge the installers for the introduction, and we are paid a share of that. You are never charged anything, and what we are paid does not change with the size of your job, the quote you accept or which installer you pick. It is worth knowing because it tells you what our incentive is: we are paid when someone genuinely wants quotes and the enquiry stands up, not when a form gets filled in. That is why this page tells you the benchmark price before it asks you for anything.

You will get calls. That is what asking for quotes means, and any site that tells you otherwise is not being straight with you. Leads 2 Trade ring you first to confirm the job, and they will try more than once if they do not reach you. After that, up to four local installers ring you to arrange a time to measure up. If that is more contact than you want, do not use this form: every calculator on this site is free, asks for nothing and gives you the same benchmark figures. If you have already submitted and changed your mind, email hello@doubleglazingcostcalculator.co.uk and we will stop our part of it and tell Leads 2 Trade.
